Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, Ph.D
Dr Mohammed Kuta Yahaya attended Kuchi Primary School between 1970 and 1975 and was one of the pioneers at Government Teachers College, Wushishi between 1975 and 1980. He was also one of the Pioneer members of Agric Science Department of the Niger State College of Education Minna between 1981 and 1984. He proceeded to the University of Calabar, Nigeria in 1989 and graduated with a B.Sc in Agricultural Science (Education) honours with Second Class Upper Division in 1991. He crowned his academic career with a Master of Science and Ph.D degrees in Agricultural Extension from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1992 and 1995 respectively. He specialized in Development Communication and Gender Issues. He is a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His research efforts have focused on the advancement of frontiers in the trouble spots of human endeavour through the application of communication principles to address crucial development issues particularly, food security, reproductive health and youth development. Dr Yahaya is a strategic communication scholar per excellence. He has successfully hypothesized and validated the efficacy of multi - media concept in development support communication, Entertainment - Education concept and outreach communication strategies.
Dr Yahaya has published four books, three chapters in other books, ten technical reports and over thirty articles in reputable local and international academic journals.
Dr Yahaya is a CODESRIA Laureate, Salzburg Seminar Alumni and 1997 Fund for Leadership Development (FLD) Grantee of the Macarthur Foundation -Nigeria. He is Nigerias pioneer member of the International Association of Agricultural Communicators in Education (ACE), Florida U.S.A. Dr Yahaya was honoured by the International Biographical Centre (IBC) London in 2001 as one of the 2000 outstanding intellectuals of 21st Century. Dr Yahaya is the founder and Executive Director, Centre for Communication and Reproductive Health Service (CCRHS).
Dr Yahaya is happily married to Hajiya Hajara Yahaya with two kids Ramatu and Mohammed. Hobbies:
